ALLYSON HAMZEY

Allyson Hamzey, a LUISS and CIFE University graduate, and Michigan State University graduate, loves losing herself in music, traveling to different corners of the world whenever she can, supporting grassroots political work, in addition to pushing for equality in her activism and kindness in her daily intentions. She also loves a good meme.

Allyson is currently based in Chicago after a year of living in Rome, where Last she moved Rome to pursue her dream of living in a culture and country completely different from her own, and to pursue a new educational path focused in shaping a more equal and sustainable world for all. There, she is pursuing her master's degree in global economic governance and public affairs in a joint program between LUISS and CIFE. She receives her diploma in September 2021, in addition to her title as a Policy Officer in European and International Organizations.

She most recently worked as a digital associate specializing in media relations and crisis management at Golin Chicago, a global public relations and digital agency. There, she executed strategic traditional media outreach and crisis management for a number one Fortune 500 retailer. She generated unique pitch angles, identifying appropriate media contacts, cultivating relationships with reporters and managing the outreach. The other half of her time, she managed the social media experience for communities of 1M+ followers and identifies potential brand reputation risks using the Sprinklr.

Allyson previously was a public relations post-graduate intern at Golin Dallas. She supports earned, social and paid media efforts through developing social media content, pitches, monitoring reports and media lists. She works closely with account teams to strategize for global and national campaigns.

She was the editor in chief of Her Campus Michigan State University, where she edited and published six articles weekly as well as co-managed a staff of twenty.

She interned at MSU's Communications and Brand Strategy department, where she edited and created content for MSU's largest campus-wide publication.

Previously, she interned at Truscott Rossman, a public relations agency in Lansing, Michigan where she wrote news releases, news advisories, letter-to-the-editor's, and created social media calendars for clients.

Prior to that, she interned with women.com, where she created weekly quizzes and listicle articles to the website's audience of millions of viewers.
